Blueteam strives to be as clueful a company as possible. This goal extends into our employment policies and practices.

Yes, we believe in and fulfill all of the EEOC and other applicable employment rules and regulations. But we don't stop there. We want to be the employer that doesn't just follow rubberstamp rules. First, we hire the best; then we work to be the company that really listens and works to understand our employees' backgrounds.

What does that mean? It means that if you can write software--or have a passion for spotting flaws in software--then you're qualified, period; and we'd love to have you on our team. It's our job to see to it that you are respected for who you are, as well as for what you do.

Our Customers

At Blueteam, many of our customers are part of the United States Department of Defense. Now, we don't care if you're Democrat or Republican, conservative, liberal, moderate, or libertarian. But our customers are real people with really demanding jobs. They expect a lot from us. If you are looking for a job where you can make an immediate impact on important Department of Defense missions, and are a US citizen, then we'd love to have you on our team.

Certainly there are many fine, large defense companies that are doing good work for the Defense Department. But at Blueteam, we can put you right in the middle of things, as soon as you sign up with us.

Not all of our work is for the US Department of Defense. We have some commercial applications too. For our commercial work, we are looking to hire either US or foreign professionals.

Our Technical Needs

Blueteam needs people within one of these three broad areas of expertise:

Super programmers. Or people who aren't super programmers--yet--but know that all they need is the right team to work with to become one. Some of the kinds of things that we expect to see from you are:

Samples of the software you've written. If you've written Open Source software, we want to see it. If you have written software to support your independent research, we're interested. If you led a software team during your college years, we want to know about it.
No bias towards a particular technology or platform. We write software that runs on multiple platforms (Linux, Windows, Unix, and occasionally Mac). We use several different languages to do that (notably Tcl/Tk and C). We like programmers who are experts in Perl, Python, Ruby, or Lisp, too. If you've already decided that Windows and Visual C++ is where the future is, then maybe we're not the company for you. But if you like your software really, well, soft--then we want to hear from you.

Super testers. We want people who can put themselves in our customers' shoes. We want to find out what's wrong before they do. But our testers need to have a very flexible mindset, because much of the software we write is the first generation of new technologies. We want people who can quickly comprehend these new technologies and figure out ingenious ways to break them.

Technology leaders. We are looking for people who are thinking about where technology is going and how these new technologies can be applied to our customers' missions. We want people who know how to translate what the customer is saying into technical requirements. This means that we are looking for smart, personable people who can keep track of things and who like to keep everyone--our customers, our own programmers and testers, and our suppliers--informed.

Blueteam Software is headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina. We offer flexible working arrangements. Depending on the job, we will want you to reside here with us either part time or full time.
